Anxiety, depression, fear, worry, doubt, grief, guilt, shame, humiliation, sadness... we have all felt some, if not all of these emotions. We have also felt happiness, joy, love, peaceful, proud, empowered, hope, excitement, and compassion. Especially being a mom. We are constantly ebbing and flowing with emotions ALL day.

Learning to connect with our emotional self, helps us connect deeper with our true soul self. As we flow through our emotions throughout the day we can learn to pause when you feel them, honor the feeling, but then talk to yourself like you were a little child. Give yourself the time and space, even for 5 minutes. Take a step back and take a few deep breaths. Ask yourself what's wrong? Why am I being triggered? What do I need in this moment? How can I support myself? What can I do to bring peace and love to this situation?

The more we learn to support ourselves and nourish ourselves, the less reactive we will become. Creating a morning or night routine for yourself. Connecting with uplifting positive people throughout the day. Going out in nature as much as possible. Getting a goodnight sleep. Keeping your home and work clean and sacred, creating a positive and happy environment. Meditation or breathing exercises. Physical activity yoga, or movement. Journaling or reading a book. Doing something special for yourself each day. Making a nourishing meal for yourself.

As we connect in with our emotions in this way, we get to control our emotions, instead of them controlling us.
